He considers sound, visuals, light, and movement as language mediums capable of expressing emotional and sensory states. Through them, he articulates human feeling, expands sensory perception, and projects his own philosophical ideals as he moves toward the life he envisions.
Recently, he wrote a book titled Me & Anti Me (2024), a project that examines the boundary between one’s inner world and the external world. He believes that a human being exists in two forms: the self, and the non-self and that life unfolds in the tension and dialogue between these two.
Life unfolds in the tension and dialogue between these two.
Kim expresses metaphors and symbols of the world through poetry: the voices that rise within him when interacting with the world, the emotions that surface in moments of connection. His poems are layered, open to multiple interpretations, inviting readers to bring their own experiences into the work. He sees each reader’s personal interpretation not as deviation but as creation of a new world emerging through the encounter between his writing and another’s life.
Bringing together these two forms of expression abstract, intangible visual languages and poetic expressions rooted in metaphor and symbolism he explores life, the self, the world, the other, and the meanings that lie beyond.
